One of those Days
This morning it started raining hard about 10 minutes before we opened. I was about 15 minutes late because I didn't want to get soaked getting to my truck in the driveway. It's about 2pm and we have over 2" in the rain gauge and it is still coming down in buckets. We are leaving in an hour ....three hours short of a full day. I just checked sales and we have done $36.27 in just over 5 hours. What makes this even more special was our first sale of the day right before I got to work. A couple came in and asked for tree chain. Tree chain helps you secure newly planted trees to their support. We had a new box marked at .75 per foot. I know this because I marked it last Wednesday when it came in. This new box held 100 feet. The salesperson that helped the couple told the cashier to ring up the tree chain at $7.50. Cashier did just that. Customer paid the $7.50 and left. The funny thing is no one that was involved accepts that anything was done improperly. It seems that it must be my fault for being late and not tutoring my employees in complex math.

1) You shoulda stayed in bed!
2) Blame it on the rain.
3) **Note to self: Shop PFAS early---before boss gets in.** =o]

The fertilizer company provided them when we told them our idea and we built the stand ourselves. They are actually candy dump bins and can be found online and run around $75+ each. We were orignally just using a barrel from Maine Bucket Co. that we added a plexiglass lid to and filled the jars by hand with a big scoop, when were only refilling one kind of fertilizer.
